Animals & us

Animals care for us too

In our bodies, our homes and our barangays. Caring for them is caring for ourselves and each other.

Visiting animals for the sick and elderly

A trained Palangga Paws handler will bring a calm, vet-checked dog or cat to hospitals, elderly homes and homebound seniors, only with the facility's permission and following its health rules. Animals visit briefly and rest often. Hospitals and care homes interested in a pilot can write to us.

Ang pagbisita sang sapat, kalipay sa masakiton kag sa tigulang.

These benefits only last when animals are healthy. That is why we bring free vaccination and kapon. Get help · What you get

Our values

Faith and care for creation

  • Saint Thomas Aquinas taught that animals have real, feeling souls, and that mercy toward them shapes how we treat each other (Summa Contra Gentiles III.112).
  • The Catechism (2416–2418) calls animals God's creatures, owed kindness. Pope Francis wrote that every creature has value of its own (Laudato Si' 69, 92).
  • Many Filipino families see their dogs and cats as companions and guardians of the home. St Roch, St Anthony the Abbot and St Francis are remembered with the animals who stayed beside them.
  • Ang mga sapat regalo sang Dios. Kon maayo ang ila kahimtangan, maayo man kita tanan.

Palangga Paws is independent and welcomes people of every faith and none.
